PrepMD students learn the clinical, technical, and business knowledge needed to succeed in the highly competitive and desirable medical device career space.

Founded by senior executives in the medical device industry, PrepMD understands the needs of employers in the cardiac space. We understand the market, the players, and the clinical and sales strategies at work. Most importantly, we know talent when we see it. Our full-time Training Team members bring more than 250 years of combined health care and medical device industry experience to your classroom. From sales management to cardiac catheter lab experience, our faculty offer expertise on the clinical and practical applications of cardiac technologies and teach you about the business and sales side of the industry, too.

Our 12,000 ft2 teaching center in Braintree, Massachusetts features simulation labs, programming equipment from multiple companies, a mock OR, an on-site library, and more. In 2011, our facility won American School and University‘s “Outstanding Design for a U.S. Training Center Facility.”

We select talented and driven individuals for admissions into the PrepMD cardiac medical device specialist training program. PrepMD training program graduates make up a very impressive group of individuals who have launched their cardiac medical device careers with PrepMD. With the help of PrepMD Professionals, our Staffing Services Division, the students begin job search preparation on day one. Students work under the guidance of PrepMD Professionals on resume revision, bio development, and mock interview practice, in order to refine the personal and professional acumen required to gain entry into the cardiac medical device career space.

The 24-week PrepMD training program requires an application and admissions interview. The curriculum includes cardiac rhythm management (CRM), electrophysiology (EP), structural heart and interventional cardiology disease states, devices and therapies.  Students learn clinical and technical skills, medical device business, sales, and market knowledge, and hands-on skills in cardiac devices and therapies. This rigorous and comprehensive training program rewards those who are passionate, focused, and hard working.

This is a hybrid training program, with the first 9 weeks of each 24-week session  fully focused on core concept learning, which is delivered online with full guidance of our faculty through live webinars.  Each cohort completes three phases of study (phase 1 foundational curriculum online, phase 2 pre-clinical hands-on training, and phase 3 clinical observation rotations).

PrepMD Professionals LLC provides placement services to our 24-week program graduates, offering a 98% placement rate. In fact, PrepMD Professionals has placement contracts with over many employers, including medical device companies such as Abbott and Boston Scientific and major healthcare systems across the country including John Hopkins and Cleveland Clinic.
